Woof n Wags

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Woof n Wags Doggie Daycare?

Woof n Wags Doggie Daycare is a fully licenced dog daycare centre that provides a safe, fun and caring environment for dogs to play and socialise with other dogs in a supervised space.

What are your hours of operation?

We are open Monday through Friday from 6:30am to 6:30pm, and are closed on Saturday, Sunday and all Public Holidays.

What services do you offer?

We offer full-day and half-day doggie daycare, walking outings, obedience training and desensitisation, hydrobaths, birthday celebrations, medical care, mini and full grooming, nail clips and anal gland expression.

What are your rates?

Our daycare rates are $60 for a full day of daycare and $45 for a half day of daycare. We also offer a discounted rate for ten pre-paid daycare visits. Please see other prices under Our Services page.

What happens if Daycare is not right for my dog?

While most dogs fit in beautifully to our Woof n Wags family, occasionally there are instances when new dogs can become anxious and their behaviours may not be suited to our doggie daycare centre.  In this instance, we will contact the owner immediately to let them know that their dog is not able to stay at Woof n Wags for their own safety and that of other dogs in the centre.  While we wait for the owner to return, we will keep their dog in a safe and separate area to ensure their continued wellbeing and that of our other doggie visitors. We will provide detailed feedback about why things didn't seem to work out, offer alternate suggestions as appropriate, and will not charge a fee if picked up immediately.

Do dogs at Woof n Wags have to be Vaccinated?

All dogs at Woof n Wags require up-to-date vaccinations to be uploaded to our Woof n Wags Booking System to enable safe attendance at our facility.  This is for the safety of your own dog, as well as all our other doggie clients.  Copies of vaccination certificates are kept on file, with easy upload facilities to allow clients to update them as appropriate.  We also aim to provide electronic reminders when vaccination renewals are due.

Does Woof n Wags have Indoor / Outdoor Facilities?

One of the key benefits of Woof n Wags is that the facility is fully self-contained - providing a safe environment for your dog during extreme weather events (hot, wet / storms, etc.).  During periods of high temperatures, our trained team will take necessary precautions to ensure all doggos remain free from heat stress by implementing supervised waterplay, icy treats, and lower level enrichment activities. However, during periods of dryer / cooler weather, Woof n Wags also offers short outdoor walks under the control and supervision of our experienced and qualified dog handlers - providing the best of all worlds.  We are currently also exploring the possible introduction of half day excursions to walking trails / beach - stay tuned for this exciting development.

Are there any breed restrictions?

No, we do not have any breed restrictions. We welcome dogs of all breeds and sizes as long as they meet our temperament and vaccination requirements and are friendly and well-behaved around other dogs and team members.  By way of example, the Woof n Wags family currently includes a toy poodle who weighs just over 1kg up to a Saint Bernard who is over 70kg, and every dog breed and size in between.  While we don't discriminate by dog breed (and we use separate, fully supervised dog sections to optimise doggo enjoyment), we take the safety of all dogs, our team members and pawrents very seriously. Therefore, we do not permit dogs which demonstrate inappropriate behaviours or conduct, including aggression or threatening behaviours, to attend our daycare.

Can I bring food for my dog during their visit?

Yes, we are more than happy to provide your doggo with a lunchtime snack of your choice - we currently have dogs who have dry, wet and vegetarian options - so happy to help out in any way you'd like. You can also purchase a serve of premium human grade free range and grass fed lunch for your dog if you would prefer - just let us know when you drop off your dog to daycare. We also offer convenient take home packs for your dog to enjoy.

What happens during a typical day at Woof n Wags?

Upon arrival at Woof n Wags our highly experienced and qualified daycare assistants and dog trainers will check your doggie in. Pawrents / assistants will remove the dog's lead and hang it on the wall hooks and write their name beside it ready for pick up time.

If you would like your dog to have some lunch during their visit, you can either bring your own and place your containers / bags in the lunch cabinet provided or alternatively, you can purchase our premium human-grade lunch for a small fee.

If you require any additional services during your doggie's daycare visit, such as a hydrobath, nail clip, one-on-one training, dog walk, etc., but forgot to include these requests during the on-line booking process, please let our friendly staff know and we'll make sure they are included during your doggo's stay.

Now is also the time to provide any additional information (or concerns) you would like us to know about your dog before you say goodbye to your precious one.  Your dog will then be bought into the play areas for a day of fun, games and structured enrichment activities.

Depending on their size, temperament and socialisation, dogs will be allocated to separate supervised play spaces.  Able to participate in the Woof n Wags Dog Enrichment Activities Program, doggies will then spend their time playing with their fur friends and engaging in enrichment activities including mental stimulation, agility course work, food puzzles, and special play time including activities such as water play, sand play, ball play and group training.  We also have special themed weeks of dress-ups such as 'Super Heroes', 'Jungle Theme', Valentine's Week', 'Pyjama Party' and more. If they are booked in for some additional services, this will occur throughout the day, prior to home time.

Just before our doggie friends go home, we introduce more calming / relaxation techniques including extra pats and cuddles to ensure your fur baby is ready to go home content and relaxed after a full day of furry play and fun times.

What is your cancellation policy?

We understand that things change at short notice, however, we adjust our team rosters according to the number and type of dogs attending daycare.  With this in mind, we would greatly appreciate all cancellations to be made with at least 24 hours notice to the day of attendance via telephone or email.

What is the process for booking my dog into Woof n Wags Doggie Daycare?

To book your dog into the Woof n Wags Doggie Daycare, you will need to complete our online registration form or visit our facility to complete the registration process in person. The registration process includes questions about your dog's temperament, social conduct and background, and completion of the Woof n Wags Service Agreement.  We also require a copy of your dog's up-to-date vaccination records prior to attending our facility. Once registered, our team will assess your dog's suitability for daycare, and if we have any questions or concerns, we will contact you prior to your dog's first visit. Following the online registration process, it is a simple online process to book your dog in for their first visit to Woof n Wags.  Once you and your dog arrive for your first visit to Woof n Wags, we will introduce ourselves to make sure you and your pooch feel welcome, safe and secure.  It is at this time that we can also answer any additional questions you may have, or if you have further information you would like to share with us.  We will then lead your doggie through to the supervised play areas, where our team will slowly introduce them to their appropriate group of play friends, while ensuring they remain comfortable and secure in their new environment.  We will monitor your doggie's progress closely throughout their first day and contact you to let you know how your fur-baby is settling in on their first visit to Woof n Wags.  Most new dogs take very little time to engage with their new fur-friends, and we are always close by to provide plenty of extra pats and cuddles for those who need a little bit more time to settle in to the Woof n Wags Doggie Daycare family.

Do dogs at Woof n Wags have to be Neutered?

For the safety of your dog and all our other dogs at Woof n Wags, we typically require our dogs to be neutered at a time appropriate for the dog.  This can be anywhere between six and twelve months for male dogs, but we will let you know if your dog is showing signs of aggression, dominance or acting inappropriately with other dogs at the centre (humping).  We also require female dogs in heat to remain at home for up to three weeks, again, for the wellbeing and safety of all our doggies, and to ensure you don't have any unexpected little furry surprises.

Do you offer pick-up and drop-off services?

At present, we do not offer pick-up and drop-off services, however, we are currently investigating this potential optional service to maximise convenience for our clients' and their doggos.

Can I visit your facility and meet the team before bringing my dog?

Absolutely! We encourage all potential clients to visit our facility and meet our friendly team before signing up their dog. Feel free to contact us to make a time to come and meet us.

What happens if my dog gets sick or injured while in your care?

In the unlikely event your dog gets sick or injured while in our care, you will find it reassuring that our team is trained in animal first aid and has access to emergency and critical care vet nurses. If your dog does become unwell or injured, we will immediately contact you to discuss your dog's condition and receive your instructions. We will discuss the nature of the illness or injury, and follow the owner's instructions as to whether they would prefer us to continue to monitor their dog in one of our medical suites and provide further updates, pick their dog up from daycare, or have us take their dog to a veterinarian for further assessment. In instances where we can't get in contact with the owner, we will take appropriate action, including transport to the Veterinary Specialist Service, Animal Emergency Service or Albert Veterinary Clinic as appropriate. We will also provide updates on your dog's condition and follow any instructions from you and / or the vet.
